In a letter, the education ministry gave the temporary approval addressing Md Ashraful Hassan, chairman of the board of trustees of the new university.

Md Ashraful Hassan is also the chairman of the Grameen Trust.

The letter also read that the new university needs to follow 22 conditions for establishment and operation.

The new university鈥檚 campus will be in the Dakkhin Diabari area under the Turag thana.

Currently, a total of 115 private universities have got approval from the University Grants Commission, while the number is 55 for public universities.
