A 15-year-old madrasa student drowned in a pond at the Kashempur Madinatul Ulum Qawmi Madrassah and Orphanage in Satkhira Sadar on Wednesday.
The deceased, Md Russel, was a resident of Alipur Hatkhola in the upazila.
Family and local sources said that Russel drowned while taking bath with other students around 10:00am.
Madrassah teachers later recovered his body from the pond.
Saminul Haque, officer-in-charge of Satkhira Sadar police station, said that Russell鈥檚 body was handed over to his family.
