Bangladesh Medical University vice-chancellor Professor Dr Md Shahinul Alam has given instructions to the authorities concerned to keep the BMU outdoor and emergency services open during Eid holidays.

BMU VC has given the instructions aimed at ensuring healthcare services during the Eid holidays, said a press release on Thursday.


As per the directives, outdoor of the medical university will remain open on March 29 and April 2 and provide treatment facilities to patients, it said.

The press release said that director of the BMU Brigadier General Abu Noman Mohammad Mosleh Uddin would oversee treatment facility from 10:00am to 1:00pm.

Besides, the indoor and emergency will remain open for healthcare services every day following regular schedule and laboratory activities will also be continued.

The outdoor will remain closed on March 28, 30, 31 and April 1, 3 and 4 on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Fitr.

During the holidays, from March 29 to April 3, all classes, office, afternoon specialised consultation service, super specialized consultation service of hospital will remain closed.

The VC also gave direction to provide improved diets to patients on the Eid day.

The Eid congregation will be held at 8:00am at the Central Mosque of the university. Later, the Eid reunion will be held from 8:30am to 10:30am on April 5.
