One of the three cases involves a charge against deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina for alleged command responsibility in crimes against humanity committed during the July-August mass uprising, he said.

Two other cases are linked to incidents in Chankharpool in the capital and Ashulia, on the outskirts of the capital, he said.

He also expressed hope that a second International Crimes Tribunal would be formed soon to expedite trials of those allegedly involved in uprising-related atrocities across the country.

The tribunal on Sunday allowed the prosecution鈥檚 prayer to submit the investigation report by June 15 in connection with crimes committed in Jatrabari, including the killing of Imam Hasan Taim, son of a police officer, during the anti-discrimination student movement.

In another development, the tribunal set July 6 as the deadline for submission of the investigation report into the Farmgate killings, including the murder of Golam Nafiz, a student of Banani Bidyaniketan School and College, who was shot dead on August 4, 2024, during the student-led protests in Dhaka.

The tribunal also allowed the investigation agency to interrogate two police personnel in custody in connection with separate cases related to the mass uprising.

Police nayek Sohel Mia will be interrogated on April 13 at the Dhanmondi safe house in connection with the killing of Ashabul Yamin in Savar. Police constable Nasirul Islam will be questioned on April 10 regarding the killing of seven people in Chankharpool.
