
The US Embassy in Dhaka on Monday advised US citizens to remain vigilant due to protests across the country, including Dhaka, in solidarity with Gaza.
The advice was given in a post on the US Embassy in Dhaka’s website on the day.
The post titled as demonstration alert while the locations Dhaka and other cities across Bangladesh.
It read that – ‘Demonstrations are expected to take place throughout the day on April 7, 2025. University students intend to protest and converge into central mass demonstrations in Dhaka and across the country in response to the conflict in Gaza.  Due to potential increased traffic and intended protest movement to the embassy, the US Embassy will limit afternoon public services on April 7, 2025.’
It also read that – ‘US citizens should practice vigilance and remember that demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate into violence. You should avoid demonstrations and exercise caution in the vicinity of any large gatherings. Review personal security plans; remain aware of your surroundings, including local events; and monitor local news stations for updates.’
The embassy post also mentioned some actions, including avoid the area, monitor local media for updates, avoid crowds and demonstrations and always carry a charged mobile phone for emergency communications to be taken by the US citizens.
