Tanzid Hasan smashed a blistering 103* off 59 as Legends of Rupganj thrashed Partex Sporting Club by 10 wickets in the ongoing Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League at the BKSP-3 on Monday.

After restricting Partex to 129 runs in 34.4 overs, thanks to Mahedi Hasan’s impressive bowling figure of four for 34 runs, Tanzid’s explosive batting ensured Rupganj’s victory in just 18.3 overs.

Tanzid reached his fifty in just 26 balls and registered his first hundred of the season in 59 balls, which is also his first in the format after two years and 46 innings.

The national team’s opener was at 99 when Rupganj required only two runs. He then struck a boundary to finish the match in style. His innings featured 10 fours and seven sixes.

The win kept Rupganj, who now have 11 points from nine games, in the Super League race, where six teams will move through.

Meanwhile, Taibur Rahman’s all-round performance helped Agrani Bank to inch closer to the Super League as they beat Brothers Union by four wickets at BKSP-4.

Taibur took four for 41 with his slow left-arm spin as Agrani Bank restricted Brothers to 238-9 in 50 overs after choosing to field first.

The veteran Alok Kapali (58 off 57) hit the only fifty of the Brothers’ innings, while Mizanur Rahman chipped in 44.

Shadman Islam (44), Marshall Ayub (41), Shuvagata Hom (45 off 35), and Taibur (35) all contributed as Agrani Bank chased down the moderate target in 48.4 overs. Agrani Bank are currently placed at fourth with 12 points.

At the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Rupganj Tigers—who have been battling to avoid relegation—stunned Gazi Group Cricketers by securing an eight-wicket win.

Gazi Group, who are now at third with 12 points, managed only 159 before getting all out in 42.1 overs.

They suffered early blows after being asked to bat first, as they became 39-4 in the eighth over before the tailenders helped them to get past 150.

Mohiuddin Tarek took three for 28 while Husna Habib and Foysal each took two wickets for Tigers.

Openers Amit Majumder and Abdul Majid then amassed a 138-run partnership to put the Tigers on the brink of victory. Majid retired hurt after making 53, while Amit scored 76 as they got home in 33.3 overs.

The match also marked the return of Bangladesh all-rounder Nasir Hossain to competitive cricket, who was banned for two years by the ICC for being involved in corruption.
