Pirojpur Science and Technology University vice-chancellor Professor Md Shahidul Islam at a programme in the district on Thursday urged the students to actively participate in sports and other co-curricular activities along with their studies.聽
He made the urge at the prize distribution ceremony of the annual sports, literature and cultural competition of Pirojpur Government Women鈥檚 College on the college campus, said a press release.聽
Presided over by Pirojpur Government Women鈥檚 College principal Sheikh Rafiqul Islam, the PSTU VC was present as chief guest and handed over the prizes to the winners of the competition at the ceremony.
Pirojpur Government Suhrawardy College principal Panna Lal Roy and civil surgeon Dr Md Matiur Rahman were present as special guests at the ceremony.
Urging the students to actively participate in sports and other co-curricular activities along with their studies, he mentioned that leadership qualities would be developed through these programmes.聽
Shahidul Islam also said that students showcased their creativity through sports, literature and cultural competitions, got the opportunity to develop their latent talents, increased their confidence and developed a sense of respect for each other.

He also sought the cooperation of the people of Pirojpur to develop Pirojpur Science and Technology University as a world-class institution.
