At least six people were killed and five more were injured in road crashes in Brahmanbaria, Feni, Kushtia and Bhola districts on Saturday.

Three out of total four accidents on the day involved buses.


抖阴精品 correspondent in Brahmanbaria reported that two people were killed in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck on the Cumilla-Sylhet highway in the Kuti area in the morning.

The deceased are Akash, son of Rahis Miah of Village Charchartola of Akhaura upazila and Amir Hossain, son of Anisur Rahman, a resident of Moradnagar upazila of Cumilla.

According to the witnesses, a Siam Paribahan bus was going to Brahmanbaria from Chattagram.

A coal-laden truck coming from the opposing direction collided head-on with the bus and following the collision front sides of both of the vehicles were mangled.

Coal owner Amir died on the spot and truck driver Akash died on the way to Dhaka.

Sarail Khatihata High way police officer-in-charge Md Mamun Rahman said that they sent the bodies to the district hospital for post-mortem.

Our correspondent in Feni reported that a pedestrian died on the spot and five more were injured when a bus skidded off the Feni-Bilonia road and smashed into a roadside shop in the Kalabagan area in Phulgazi upazila at around 10:30am.

The deceased is Tasin Uddin, 15, son of Belal Hossain from Bashura village under Phulgazi upazila. Tasin was a Class VIII student of Phulgazi Pilot High School.

Quoting witnesses, Phulgazi police officer-in-charge Md Wahid Parvez said that the driver of the bus on Feni-Porshuram route lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the shop after crushing Tasin on the road.

At least five bus passengers sustained injuries and rushed to the Phulgazi Upazila Health Complex.

Walid said that they sent the body to the Feni 250-bed General Hospital and seized the bus.

The process of filling a case was under way, he added.聽聽

United News of Bangladesh reported that a motorcyclist and his pillion rider died on the spot when a bus hit the motorbike carrying them on the Kushtia-Jhenaidah highway at Bottoil under the sadar upazila of Kushtia at around 7:30am.

The deceased are Noyon Islam, 25, and Rony, 26, both were workers of Kiam Metal Industry.

The accident took place while Nayan and Rony were going to their office.

Angered by the accident, locals put up barricades on the Kushtia-Jhenaidah highway, causing traffic jam on both sides of the highway, said Joydeb, sub-inspector of the Chourhash police camp.

Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha reported that a man was killed when a CNG-run auto-rickshaw hit him from behind in front of the Elisha Baghar Hawla Secondary School at Bhola Sadar at around 6:30am.

The deceased is M Mostafa, 62, a retired school teacher of Baghar Hawla Government Primary School in the area and son of late Maulana Anwar Ullah Huzur of Purba Elisha Maulvirhat of the upazila.

The accident left Mostafa critically injured and the on-duty doctor at Bhola Sadar Hospital declared him dead on arrival, said Hasnain Ahmed Parvez, officer-in-charge of the Bhola police station.
