Bangladesh batter Liton Das has been ruled out of the Pakistan Super League due to a finger injury, cutting short his tournament before it even began.

Liton, who was roped in by Karachi Kings, sustained the injury during a practice session, which forced him to withdraw from the squad and return home, as stated by the wicket-keeper batter on Saturday.

Medical staff estimated a recovery period of at least two weeks, leaving no possibility for his participation in the league. Ìý

‘I was truly excited to play in the PSL for Karachi Kings, but the Almighty had other plans. During a practice session, I picked up a finger injury. Scans revealed a hairline fracture, and recovery will take at least 2 weeks,’ stated Liton on his Facebook post.

‘So sadly, my PSL mission is over before it even began. I'm flying back to Bangladesh and seeking your prayers & love for a quick recovery.’

Liton, who was set to make his PSL debut after securing a No Objection Certificate from the Bangladesh Cricket Board, had previously played in the Indian Premier League, Lanka Premier League and Caribbean Premier League.

Meanwhile, leg-spinner Rishad Hossain has joined Lahore Qalandars camp and pacer Nahid Rana will join his franchise, Peshawar Zalmi, after the first Test against Zimbabwe at home.
