
A ten-day film festival titled Francophonie Film Festival 2025 featuring French language films from different countries is under way at Alliance Fran莽aise Dhaka.
The festival screens films from Kosovo, Switzerland, Canada and France with different genres iuncluding documentary, short and animation with a workshop and a seminar at AFD Dhanmondi and Gulshan.聽
The festival began on Thursday with a documentary short from Kosovo titled Without Kosovo directed by Swiss-Kosovar filmmaker Dea Gjinovci at the Auditorium Nouvelle Vague of AFD Dhanmondi.
An animation film from Switzerland titled My Life as a Zucchini by Claude Barras was screened at the festival on Tuesday at the same venue.
The festival will feature six films of renowned French filmmaker Joseph Morder.
His films M茅moires d鈥檜n juif tropical, L鈥檃rbre mort, Romamor, El cantor, La duchesse de Varsovie and Assoud le buffle will be screened from April 18 to 20.
Joseph Morder will also conduct a two-day workshop with Bangladeshi filmmakers on April 23 and 24 at Dhanmondi.
The festival will end on April 24.
