The first anniversary of death of journalist, researcher, playwright and lyricist Ghulam Mustafa Shindiani will be observed today.聽
A Qur鈥檃n khwani at Khulna Alia Madrassah and a special prayer session at his home have been organised to mark the day, said a press release.
Born at Shindiani of Mohammadpur in Magura on December 1, 1951, Ghulam Mustafa Shindiani was literary editor of the Daily Purbanchal.
He won the gold medal for being selected as the best teacher on the occasion of the National Education Week 2001.
He wrote and edited several books, including the collection of stories titled Binashta Prithibhee.
He also served as a collector of Bangladesh Folk Culture Book published by the Bangla Academy.
Ghulam Mustafa Shindiani passed away on April 18 in 2024.
