Zimbabwe would be fully prepared to face someone fast like Nahid Rana, said the veteran all-rounder Sean Williams on Friday.

This will be the first encounter of Nahid, who stormed through the cricket world by his raw pace and immaculate consistency over line and length.

But Williams didn’t seem to be bother about facing the speedster of Bangladesh. During a press conference at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Williams said, ‘There are a lot of people who can bowl fast nowadays. Not just one person. We are prepared for that.’

‘We have bowling machines that bowl faster than human beings. It is a great thing,’ he added.

However, he praised the growth of Bangladesh’s pace bowling attack in recent years.

He said, ‘I think they are excellent. I have watched the Bangladesh pace attack grow and grow through the years. The amount of players they get to select from is incredible. I have really enjoyed the growth within Bangladesh. Hopefully we will be starting to do the same in our country.’

The 38-year-old all-rounder, who is making a comeback to the Test side after an injury, also reminded everyone that Zimbabwe, too, have a great fast bowling unit.

‘We have some skilled and world-renowned bowlers on our side,’ said Williams. ‘We have Blessing Muzarabani and Richard Ngarava, apart from Victor Nyauchi and Trevor Gwandu coming through as well. It is going to be an interesting contest.’

Williams, who played two Tests so far against Bangladesh, was content with the preparation they had.

‘I think we have had good preparation; particularly back in Zimbabwe, the guys have had a lot of game time. Our seamers have been bowling pretty well back there. The make-up and mental side of the team, the atmosphere in the group is really bubbly. It has been awesome.’
