The debut solo exhibition of photojournalist Sony Ramani is set to be unveiled today at the National Art Gallery of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in Dhaka city.

The inauguration of the show will be at 5:30pm.

It will remain open to the public from 3:00pm to 8:00pm daily till April 24, said a press release.

The exhibition, featuring over 60 powerful photographs and a thought-provoking video installation, offers a compelling visual narrative of Dhaka鈥檚 ongoing environmental crisis, the release said.

Ramani, who has been documenting the country鈥檚 socio-environmental landscape for over a decade, casts an unflinching look at the capital鈥檚 ecological decay.

Dhaka, one of the most unliveable cities in the world, faces critical challenges stemming from air pollution, water contamination, waste mismanagement and unbridled urban sprawl.

Ramani鈥檚 exhibition bases itself on four thematic titles鈥攁ir pollution, the death of water bodies, waste mismanagement, and the vanishing green.

Sony Ramani works for the daily 抖阴精品 as its staff photojournalist.
