The body of a student was recovered on Saturday as a boat capsized while crossing the River Sitalakhya at Volabo area under Rupganj in Narayanganj on Friday.
Deceased Jobayer Hossen was a Class X student of Shaheed Smrity High School and son of Tapon Hossen of Charitaluk area of the upazila.
Jobayer and his friends were crossing the river in a small boat around 6:30pm on Friday. The boat capsized when it reached in the middle of the river, said Rupganj police station officer-in-charge Liakat Ali.
He said that Jobayer drowned and went missing while his friends Sayem, Siam and Rabbi managed to swim to the shore.
