Speakers at a commemorative meeting on former president of Gonoswasthya Kendra trust, Professor Altafunnesa, said that she had played a significant role in managing Gonoswasthya Kendra.
The Gonoswasthya Kendra Family organised the meeting at the Major Haider Auditorium of Gonoswasthya Nagar Hospital at Dhanmondi in Dhaka on Sunday, said a press release.
Professor Altafunnesa was a skilled administrator. This always smiling woman was very popular with the staff for her humanitarian qualities, they added.聽
Among others, Gonoswasthya Kendra and Gono University board of trustees member Professor Abul Kashem Chowdhury, Gono University vice-chancellor Professor Md Abul Hossain, Gonoswasthya Kendra trust member Sandhya Roy, managing director of Basic Chemical ABM Jamal Uddin, Professor Altafunnesa鈥檚 son Hasib Zakaria and daughter Tasnim Zakaria, among others, spoke at the meeting.
Professor Altafunnesa passed away on April 7, 2025, while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital.
She was closely involved with Gonoswasthya Kendra and Gono University since its inception.
