Two men were arrested on Tuesday in connection with a case filed on charges of beating their sister-in-law tying her to a tree at Sultanpur in Brahmanbaria.
The woman also alleged that her children were also beaten during the incident.
A video on the incident went viral on the social media.
The incident took place at Madhapara of Sultanpur union at Brahmanbaria sadar upazila.
Brahmanbaria sadar police station officer-in-charge Md Mozaffar Hossain said that the victim filed the case against seven people, including her two brothers-in-law.
鈥楶olice arrested her two brothers-in-law Mangal Miah and Joynal Abedin in this connection. Police are trying to arrest the rest of the accused,鈥� added the police official.
The victim said that her husband Haidar Ali had been working in Saudi Arabia for long.
鈥楳y husband鈥檚 family members often quarrel with me. Monday afternoon, they, including two brothers-in-law, beat me while I was talking to my husband on mobile phone,鈥� she said.
At one stage, they tortured her tying her to a tree, she added.
