The department of environmental science and management at North South University hosted an event to celebrate the Earth Day at the Syndicate Hall of the university in Dhaka on Wednesday.

The event welcomed a visiting team of students and faculty members from Notre Dame College, Dhaka, including members of the college’s Nature Study Club, said a press release on Thursday.

The event provided a platform for interaction between students and faculty from both institutions. The Notre Dame College delegation comprised 26 students and was accompanied by faculty member Biplob Deb. They were joined by NSU’s active environmental club, the Earth Club of NSU.

Faculty members from the ESM department shared their expertise and perspectives on critical environmental issues. This was followed by presentations from the NSU ESM student body and the NSU Earth Club, highlighting their initiatives and involvement in environmental conservation efforts.

‘We were delighted to welcome the students and faculty from Notre Dame College to North South University for this special Earth Day event,’ said NSU ESM department chairperson Suja Uddin.

‘Collaborations like this are vital for sharing knowledge, building networks and collectively working towards a sustainable future. Seeing the enthusiasm from students of both institutions is truly inspiring,’ he added.
