Police on Sunday recovered the body of a stone worker who went missing after a stone-laden boat capsized in the Jaflong area under Gowainghat upazila of Sylhet.
The deceased is Sajal Mia, 34, son of Islam Uddin from Chaturbhuj village in Tahirpur upazila of Sunamganj district.
Gowainghat Thana police recovered the body from the Zero Point area of Jaflong in the morning.
On Thursday, a group of workers went to collect stones from the prohibited Ecologically Critical Area of the Jaflong stone quarry. On their return journey, the boat carrying Sajal and others sank.
Sub-inspector of Gowainghat Thana, Abdur Rakib Khan, confirmed the matter, saying that the body would be handed over to the family after completing the post-mortem.
