Bangladesh interim government education adviser Professor Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar urged everyone on Monday to eliminate negative perceptions about technical education and integrate this education with mainstream education.
‘We have a negative perception and stigma about technical education that if it is a factory of making carpenters,’ he said at a seminar, adding, ‘This is a wrong perception.’
He also said that a certain percentage of technical education courses should be included in the mainstream education.
‘So that people will consider physical labour with respect and learn skills,’ he added.
The seminar was organised by the ministry at the International Mother Language Institute in Dhaka.
