
A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between Bangladesh Satellite Company Limited and Danish company Sternula to make shipping safe and digital by installing satellite-based Automatic Identification System in the Bangladesh maritime sector.
The MoU was signed by BSCL managing director and CEO Muhammad Imadur Rahman and Sternula CEO Lars Molsten at the BSCL鈥檚 conference hall in Dhaka on Tuesday, said a press release.
Senior officials from both sides, including head of trade mission of the Danish embassy Ali Mushtaq Butt, were present.
AIS 2.0/VDES is the world鈥檚 first technology that works on maritime security and Sternula is the first company to provide the service.
Through the MoU, BSCL and Sternula will continue discussions to establish communication between various large and small ships operating at sea, make ship operations more modern and digital, establish all-time communication between ships operating at seaports, create more income opportunities at sea, and increase new innovations.
