Mentioning that everyone should obey by the court order, Dhaka Metropolitan Police commissioner Habibur Rahman on Friday said that police would not tolerate any violation of law.

‘Everyone has obligation to follow the court order, so police will not accept any violation of the law,’ he said, while virtually addressing a gathering of journalists at a function, organised by Bangladesh Crime Reporters Association in the city, as the special guest.

The association organised the sports competition and fruits festival with its president Kamruzzaman Khan in chair.

Habibur Rahman said that the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court had given a one-month stay on the judgment, given by the High Court on quota system in the government jobs.

‘Everyone should have faith in the court. There is an obligation to comply with the court orders. I think everyone should do that,’ he added.

He said that journalists always supported police to ensure justice by writing investigative reports and finding out the truth.

President of CRAB Kamruzzaman Khan thanked all for attending the event despite the heavy rain.

Senior executive director of Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC FM Iqbal Bin Anwar and senior deputy executive Md Rabiul Islam Milton were present as special guests.

Dhaka Reporters Unity president Syed Shukur Ali Shuvo, treasurer of Bangladesh Federal Union Journalists and former CRAB presidents Khairuzzaman Kamal, senior journalist Parvez Khan, Abul Khair, Mirza Mehdi Tamal and Isharaf Hossain Isa were present.
