The services of metro rail have been stopped at 5:30pm on Thursday for the public safety.

Earlier on the day, the services were made limited by suspending the services on the Mirpur-11, Mipur-10, Kazipara and Shewrapara stations in the afternoon considering safety of passengers.


In a Facebook post the Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited, the implementing agency of the metro rail, said that for the interest of the public the last train of the day would start from the Motijheel metro station to the Uttara North station at 5:30pm on Thursday.

No other train would run on the metro line, it read.

Earlier, the services had been suspended in the four stations from 2:25pm and the trains ran on the Uttara North-Pallabi and Agargaon-Motijheel sections.

Usually the metro rail services are available till 9:30pm.
