
A day-long free eye camp was held on the premises of Hatibhanga Afroza Begum High School at Katharbil Bazar of Dewanganj upazila in Jamalpur on Friday.
Lions Club of Dhaka FESS & Dhaka Protesting Voice and the Trust of late Daulat Hossain Chowdhury, organised the eye camp, said a press release on Sunday.
The event was attended by Lion Sadat Ferdous, district zone chairperson and founder of the club, on behalf of Ln Mohammed Salim Miah, district governor, district 315A1, Lions International, Ln Abu Saud, club secretary, Fahad Ferdous, Guiding Lion Lions Club of Dhaka Protesting Voice and club treasurer Lion Atiya Siddique with other club members, and chairman of the board of trustees Dilruba Yasmin Chowdhury.
Experienced doctors from Lions Eye Institute and General Hospital provided more than 600 patients free medical services and the cataract patients were promised free surgery at the hospital later.
