The fourth edition of the Bangabandhu Cup International Kabaddi Tournament will be held at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Mirpur from May 26 to June 3.  

The overseas teams will start to arrive in Dhaka on May 23 before the group seeding and fixtures will be finalised on May 25. 


T-sports will telecast all the matches live from the venue. 

12 teams will participate in the tournament with it being the maiden appearance for Japan, South Korea, and Uganda.

The other participating teams of the tournament besides three-time champions and hosts Bangladesh are – Poland, Kenya, Iraq, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Nepal and Sri Lanka.  

Bangladesh beat Kenya in the final in both 2021 and 2022 before they beat Chinese Taipei in the final in 2023 to bag their hat-trick title when all three editions were held at the Shaheed Noor Hossain National Volleyball Stadium in Paltan.

The Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation organisers disclosed details of the tournament, which is also the qualifying competition of the Kabaddi World Cup, in a press conference at the Bangladesh Olympic Association auditorium in the city on Monday. 

BKF president and IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, general secretary and DMP commissioner Habibur Rahman, and Jatiya Sangsad whip and former national cricket team captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza spoke in the occasion among others. 

BKF’s motto behind organising this tournament is to promote Kabaddi, the national game of Bangladesh, on international platforms.
