The fourth edition of the Bangabandhu Cup International Kabaddi Tournament will聽be held聽at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Mirpur from May 26 to June 3.聽聽
The overseas teams will聽start to聽arrive in Dhaka on May 23 before the group seeding聽and聽fixtures聽will聽be聽finalised聽on May 25.聽
T-sports will telecast all the matches live from the venue.聽
12聽teams will participate in the tournament聽with聽it being the maiden appearance for Japan, South Korea, and Uganda.
The other participating teams of the tournament聽besides聽three-time champions and hosts聽Bangladesh聽are 鈥� Poland, Kenya, Iraq, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Nepal and Sri Lanka.聽聽
Bangladesh beat Kenya in the final in both 2021 and 2022 before they beat Chinese Taipei in the final in 2023 to bag their hat-trick title when all three editions聽were held聽at the Shaheed Noor Hossain National Volleyball Stadium in Paltan.
The Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation organisers disclosed details of the tournament, which is also the qualifying competition of the Kabaddi World Cup, in a press conference at the Bangladesh Olympic Association auditorium in the city on Monday.聽
BKF president and IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, general secretary and DMP commissioner Habibur Rahman,聽and聽Jatiya Sangsad whip and former national cricket team captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza spoke in the occasion聽among聽others.聽
BKF鈥檚 motto behind organising this tournament is to promote Kabaddi, the national game of Bangladesh, on international platforms.
