Leaders of Ganatantra Mancha and other opposition political parties, in a statement on Saturday, said that the Awami League government was attempting to evade responsibility for the killings of students, involved in quota reform movement, by arresting opposition leaders and activists.

They, however, believed that the government would not succeed in blaming these leaders for the deaths during the students’ movement.

Condemning the government’s actions to suppress the justified movement of students, demanding reforms in the quota system for government jobs, they called for the immediate withdrawal of the curfew, army, and Border Guard Bangladesh.

They also demanded the publication of the number of students and people, killed during the measures taken to control the movement.

The opposition leaders also condemned the police raids on the homes of AB Party member secretary Mojibur Rahman Monju and LDP general secretary Shahadat Hossain Selim.
