The hanging body of a vegetable vendor was recovered from a tree in a haor at Osmani Nagar upazila in Sylhet on Friday noon.
The deceased, Mujahid Ahmed, 27, is son of Abdul Kadir of Khujkipur village at Umarpur union of the Osmani Nagar upazila, police said.
Relatives of Mujahid told 抖阴精品 that he had left his house on Thursday afternoon and did not return home until Friday morning.
Later at noon, locals found Mujahid鈥檚 body hanging from a tree at Konarban Haor near the Khujgipur village.
Osmaninagar police sub-inspector Shafiq Ahmed told 抖阴精品 that they rushed to the spot after being informed by the local people and recovered the hanging body from there.
鈥楾he body was sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital for a post-mortem examination in the afternoon,鈥� he said.
The police officer said that the reason behind the incident could not be known immediately.
鈥榃e initially have assumed it to be a suicide,鈥� the officer added.
