
Mohammed Mosharaf Hossain joined Bangladesh Commerce Bank Limited as managing director and chief executive officer on Thursday, said a press release.
Before joining BCBL, he served as MD and CEO of Islamic Finance and Investment Limited, First Finance Limited and as additional managing director of Uttara Bank Limited.
He started his career at Uttara Bank as a probationary officer in 1987 and served there for 32 years. During that time, he held important positions like additional managing director, chief risk officer, head of credit, zonal head, branch manager of different branches, including local office.
His areas of expertise are business development, HRM, sales and marketing, SME financing, crisis management, risk management, recovery of classified investment, compliance, monitoring, supervision, etc.
He obtained BCom (honours) and MCom in accounting from the University of Dhaka and completed banking diploma part 1 and 2 (DAIBB).
He participated in many professional trainings workshops and seminars at home and abroad, such as the United Kingdom, Italy, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, India and Sri Lanka. He also visited Saudi Arabia to perform Holy Hajj.
