The Private Medical Institute Association on Wednesday threatened the authorities concerned with work abstention if the attackers of two physicians were not arrested within 24 hours.

At a press conference held at Chattogram Press Club on Wednesday, leaders of the association made the statement.

Addressing the event, M Sharif, president of the association, said that physicians often came under attack and were being harassed by patients and their families during their duties.

The number of attacks is increasing gradually as justice is not meted out, he added.

He also said that attackers got rid of their attacks due to a culture of immunity and the whole work environment for physicians was at risk.

Demanding a proper law for physicians and their safety, the president also said that if the physicians remained scared of their workplaces and attack then they would not be able to perform their duties properly and the health sector would collapse.聽聽聽聽聽聽
