Mohammad Munir Chowdhury, director general of National Museum of Science and Technology urged the young engineers to ensure greening around the building by giving importance to environment protection during the construction.
He also directed the engineers to make tree fence around the building and use Hollow technology instead of burnt brick in the construction work to ensure environment friendly urbanisation.
Munir Chowdhury came up with the directions on Saturday, when a group of 25 young engineers from the directorate of education and engineering visited the science, said a press release.
‘We need to get out from the traditional development concept. Engineers should keep in mind not only the feasibility of building construction, but also planning to ensure the sustainable and environment-friendly use of the building. We should ensure plantations and reservoir management to protect cities from wildfires,’ he said.
