A bus from Mymensingh caught fire in Dhaka鈥檚 Banani area on Saturday afternoon after it ran over a motorcycle.
On information, two fire engines rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control at about 4:15pm, said fire service and civil defence control room officials.
The fire officials said that a motorcyclist fell under the bus while taking a turn, causing a spark and subsequently the fire on the bus.
Banani police station officer-in-charge Kazi Sahan Haque said that the motorcyclist was badly injured as the bus dragged him for a while before causing fire.
Both the bus and motorcycle were damaged, he said, adding that the bus had a few passengers on it.
The injured motorcyclist was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical stage, the OC added.
