The Civil Aviation Academy has received the International Civil Aviation Organisation Trainair Plus Silver certification, said the officials of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh on Sunday.

The CAAB chairman Air Vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman received the certification from the ICAO president Salvatore Sciacchitano and secretary general Juan Carlos Salazar during the ICAO Global Implementation Support Symposium held between April 29 and May 2 in the Dominican Republic.


The CAAB member for flight standard and regulations Air Commodore Shah Kawsar Ahmed Choudhury and the Civil Aviation Academy director Prasanta Kumar Chakraborty also attended the symposium.

Mohammad Sohel Kamruzzaman, deputy director, public relations, at CAAB, said the ICAO secretary general also

appreciated the CAAB chairman for the expansion of civil aviation activities and ensuring passenger safety.

The Bangladeshi officials discussed with the officials of ICAO Global Aviation Training and Prashanta Kumar received another certificate as ICAO ISD certified instructor and with this, he would be able to provide ICAO鈥檚 international aviation training.

The symposium demanded ensuring safety by integrating advanced air mobility into the existing aviation framework, building resilient aviation systems in the face of crisis and exploring air transport impacts of emerging technologies in aviation training.

It also called for a deep dive into aviation cyber security, scaling up global collaboration and enhancing capacity, among others.
