
Fisherman Hossain Ali, 48, who was injured by the Myanmar armed group Arakan Army, while fishing in the Naf River, died early Tuesday while undergoing treatment at Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
Hossain Ali, son of Abdus Sukkur, was a resident of Balukhali village in Whykong union of Teknaf upazila.
Teknaf Police station officer-in-charge Md Osman Gani confirmed the death.
OC Gani stated that Hossain Ali died early Tuesday after five days of treatment at the hospital.
Regarding the incident, the police officer explained that on the evening of May 22, Hossain Ali was shot, while fishing in the Naf River at Whykong union of the upazila.
Hossain was initially admitted to Cox鈥檚 Bazar Sadar hospital, and when his condition worsened, he was transferred to Chittagong Medical College Hospital, the OC added.
The family members had requested the post-mortem report, which had been sent by the police, the official added.
