Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University vice-chancellor professor Deen Mohd Noorul Huq said that doctors were responsible to patients to ensure medical care in the hospital.
He said that to take BSMMU to a unique height, institutional capacity must be increased and all must be empowered and held accountable.
‘We are responsible to the patients. They should be provided easy, affordable and world-class medical care. Whatever needs for this must be done’, the VC added.
Professor Noorul Huq came up with the comments while addressing the opening ceremony of a three-day training workshop titled ‘Formulation, implementation and update of citizen charter’ held on Tuesday at Shaheed Dr Milton Hall in BSMMU.
He also said that due importance should be given to the patients so that they could easily return home with medical care from hospitals. The reputation of the university would spread everywhere only then.
BSMMU’s pro-vice-chancellor (academic) professor Mohammed Atiqur Rahman was present as special guest at the workshop, while pro-VC (research and development) professor Md Moniruzzaman Khan was keynote speaker. Director of IQAC and president of APA professor Jasmine Banu delivered welcome speech.
