A case was filed on Thursday against five people over stealing computer accessories, including three CPUs from the office of Savanna Eco Resort and Natural Park owned by former inspector general of police Benazir Ahmed and his family at Sadar Upazila in Gopalganj.

Md Sarwar Hossain, manager (human resources) of the resort and park filed the case with Gopalganj Sadar police station.聽


Sarwar Hossain confirmed the news.

The case was filed naming Sajib Mojumder, Rurat Roy, Animesh Sen, Biplob Bal and Sanjoy Bal as accused people. But the identity of the accused was not mentioned in the case statement.

According to the case statement, the property of Savanna Eco Resort Pvt. Ltd and Natural Park owned by Benazir Ahmed and his family members was seized following a court order on May 23.

On June 6, the District Fisheries Officer and the Directorate of Agricultural Extension, Gopalganj, were appointed as receivers to look after the assets.

Later, Sarwar was appointed as manager [Human Resources] of the resort and park.

On Wednesday, he went to sleep in his bedroom at about 10.30pm after finishing all the activities in his office.

On Thursday morning, Sarwar went to his office at Savanna Eco Resort & Natural Park and found that three CPUs and one monitor of computer with a value of Tk 2,00,000 were stolen.

Analysing CCTV camera footages, it is seen that three people entered the office room and stole the goods at any time between 10.30 pm on Wednesday and 9.00 am on Thursday, said the case statement.
