The closing session of a five-day long training course on ‘Shariah Audit of Islamic Banking Operations’ jointly organised by the Central Shariah Board for Islamic Banks of Bangladesh and Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management was held on Wednesday on the BIBM Campus, Mirpur, Dhaka. 

The resource persons who lectured in the training course include Md Mahabbat Hossain, Mezbah Uddin Ahmed and Md Alamgir, director (training).


The concluding remarks were made by Md Fariduddin Ahmed, former chairman, executive committee, CSBIB, as the chief guest and Md Abdullah Sharif, secretary general, CSBIB, as the special guest while Md Alamgir, director (training), BIBM, chaired the session.

The chief guest in his speech said, ‘The Muraquibs are soldiers and patrons of Islamic banking. This is why they need time-befitting training and intensive care. I think, this is the first five-day training course especially for Muraquibs, since Islamic banking has been established in the country. For this initiative, I express heartfelt gratitude to the authorities of the Central Shariah Board and BIBM. In this course, scholars from the national and international levels conducted the sessions. Such a national training course should be frequently organized.’

The training course was coordinated by Professor Md Alamgir, director (training), BIBM, Md Mahabbat Hossain, associate professor, BIBM as well as Syed Sakhawatul Islam, vice-president and in-charge (admin), CSBIB, and Md Abdullah Al-Faruque, principal officer, CSBIB. 

A total of 39 executives and officials from 23 banks participated in the training course and certificates were distributed among the participants in the concluding session, said a press release.
