Two people, including an adolescent boy, died in two separate flood-related incidents in Sunamganj and Habiganj on Friday.

The deceased are Abu Taher, 15, son of Abdun Nur Miah of Maity village in Charnarchar union under Derai upazila in Sunamganj and Osman Mia, 26, son of Zainal Mia of Jatrabari in Dhaka, police said.


Shahab Uddin, a member of Charnarchar union parishad, told 抖阴精品 that Abu Taher went to the nearby Surma River at about 2:30pm in a small boat to collect water hyacinth for feeding their cattle.

At one point, squally wind pushed Abu Taher鈥檚 boat near a hanging electric wire on the riverbank. When he came in contact with the live power supply line, he was electrocuted.

Derai police station officer-in-charge Ratan Devnath confirmed the incident to 抖阴精品 and said in the evening that the process of handing the victim鈥檚 body to his family without a post-mortem examination was underway.

Habiganj fire service and civil defence team leader said that they recovered the body of Osman from the Sutang River near the Mahrampur area under the Lakhai upazila in the afternoon.

He said that Osman, along with several friends, went down to the the river at about 11:00am to take a bath. At one point, he was washed away by the strong current of the river water and went missing.

Lakhai police station inspector (investigation) Champak Dham confirmed Osman鈥檚 death and said that the victim had come to Mahrampur to attend the wedding party of his friend Suruj Alam of the same village.
