
The Asian University for Women has recently launched its Summer School programme for 2024, supported by the Chevron Bangladesh, at a ceremony at the university campus in Chattogram.
The vice-chancellor of the AUW, Abu Taher, was present as chief guest while the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries director, Munal Mahbub, was present as special guest at the ceremony held on June 27, said a press release issued on Sunday.
The guests underscored the importance of women stepping into leadership roles, fostering teamwork, nurturing innovation, and cultivating robust relationships.
Chevron Bangladesh and the AUW have partnered with the aim at enhancing the skills and competencies of young students to stand out in investigative science-oriented further studies and careers since 2019.
Students from different parts of the country participated in the Summer School programme have been encouraged to choose a career path in STEM subjects.
The programme was meticulously detailed by its director, Mohiuddin Ahsanul Kabir Chowdhury.
This year, 89 high school students have been selected from all over Bangladesh to participate in a four-week programme focused on Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Coding and Public Health.
Begun on June 27, this year鈥檚 programme, taught by a cohort of international and local faculty, will continue till July 25.
Khondoker Tusherujjaman, community engagement and social investment manager for Chevron Bangladesh, commented on Chevron鈥檚 unwavering support for AUW鈥檚 summer school since its inception and reaffirmed the company鈥檚 dedication to educational and social initiatives.
