The Armed Police Battalion detained two Rohingya people with locally-made arms and ammunition from a camp at Ukhia in Cox鈥檚 Bazar early Friday.
The detainees are Mohammad Jubayer, 26, and Mohammad Shafiq, 33.
Battalion commander additional deputy inspector general Md Iqbal confirmed the matter.
He said that acting on a tip-off, they conducted a drive at Rohingya Camp聽5 at about 12:30 am and detained the two.
A one-shooter gun, 3 rifle bullets, 5 empty case of rifle bullets and two shotgun bullets were recovered from their possession, said the battalion commander. The Rohingyas were handed over to the Ukhiya police station.
