National museum of science and technology organised an awareness science meeting for children and teenagers to prevent the spread of Aedes mosquito.

A science lecture titled ‘Cleanliness and Dengue Awareness’ was organised with 45 students from Holitouch Model School in Dhaka’s Savar on Monday, said a press release.

In the programme, director general of science museum Mohammad Munir Chowdhury told the students that dengue was spreading due to unplanned urbanisation and lack of proper waste management, which was essential to create social awareness.

Children and teenagers should have strict discipline in their life. They should be made aware of the immense physical and mental damage of using mobile phones for hours, he added.

‘Focus on studies and lead a life of honesty and integrity,’ Munir Chowdhury advised the students.

Director of the museum Md Wahidul Islam also spoke on the occasion. Later, three students, who participated in the science lecture, were presented with science museum souvenirs.
