Socialist Women Forum and Women Cell of Communist Party of Bangladesh on Tuesday demanded restoration of 10 per cent women quota in government jobs.

Leaders of the organisations, in a joint statement, said that in the name of reformation of the quota system in government jobs, the existing women quota was dropped.

They said that dropping of women quota was unfair as a huge number of women of Bangladesh were lagging behind in education.

Discrimination between men and women would increase for this decision, they said.

They urged the government to restore the women quota in government jobs to ensure equity in the society.

Signatory to the statement are — CPB women cell convener Laxmi Chakraborty, central leader Luna Noor, SWF president Shampa Basu and Dilruba Nuri.
