
The commission of inquiry, headed by Justice Khandaker Diliruzzaman, is scheduled to sit with the cabinet secretary today to set out the agenda for investigating ‘the reasons behind the death of six people on July 16 and identify the persons responsible’ for the killings.
Following the prime minister’s assurance to fulfill a demand of the quota protesters, the government formed the one-member inquiry commission on July 18 to carry out a judicial inquiry over the killing of students during the anti-quota movement.
Appellate Division registrar Mohammad Saifur Rahman told ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ· that the cabinet secretary, who would provide secretariat support to the inquiry commission, had yet to inform the commission about the time and place of the meeting. Â
The Cabinet Division in a circular said that the one-member inquiry commission would submit its investigation report to the government within 30 days.
