
One of the nine members of the banned extremist outfit Ansar al-Islam, who escaped during the jailbreak at Narsingdi Central Jail, has been arrested in Narayanganj, bringing the total number of recaptured to 98.
Lieutenant Colonel Tanvir Mahmud Pasha, commanding officer of Rapid Action Battalion-11, claimed on Thursday that they had arrested Md Faruk Ahmed, 43, at Sonargaon鈥檚 Premer Bazar area.

Narsingdi Lawyers Association president Kazi Nazmul Islam confirmed the matter.
Earlier, 155 prisoners surrendered to the court on Wednesday, 138 on Tuesday, and 10 on Monday.
The jailbreak occurred at about 4:00pm on July 19 amidst chaotic demonstrations outside the jail, located along the Dhaka-Sylhet highway.
Protesters set government offices ablaze, blocked the highway, and confined local ruling Awami League leaders to their residences.
The inmates set fire to the jail before breaking through the main entrance and escaping in large numbers.
