The Fire Service and Civil Defence members and their volunteers on Thursday worked with the students to control traffic across the country, including Dhaka.
Due to the absence of traffic police, they are engaged in important places all over the country, including the traffic points of the capital Dhaka, said a fire service press release.
The press release said that the fire service conducted this activity from 8:00am.
Following the instructions of director general of fire service Brigadier General Md Main Uddin, Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Tajul Islam Chowdhury, director (operation and maintenance) of fire service, oversaw the traffic control.
‘There is now a void in traffic management and our members and volunteers are engaged in fulfilling this responsibility,’ he said.
