At least nine people were killed and eight others injured in road accidents in Sirajganj on Sunday.聽聽

抖阴精品 correspondent in Sirajganj reported that six people were killed in a collision between a microbus and a CNG-run auto rickshaw at Kamarkhanda in the district.


The deceased were the auto-rickshaw driver Rashedul Islam, 27, resident of Brahmanbaria, passengers Nuruzzaman Sheikh, 52, his brother Tareq Sheikh, 55,聽 their relatives Jahangir Alam, 67, Abdul Majid, 45, and his聽 brother Rezaul Karim, 40. All of them were residents of Protap Vatra village under Tarash in the district.聽聽聽聽聽

Kamarkhanda police station officer-in-charge Rezaul Karim said that the accident occurred on the Sirajganj-Nalka regional highway, and the microbus driver managed to flee the scene.

In this regard, filing a case was underway, he added.聽聽

抖阴精品 correspondent in Tangail reported that at least three people were killed and eight others injured in a road accident at Pillar 13 over the Jamuna Bridge in Sirajganj.

The deceased were Raijuddin, 55, of Dhanbandhi area under Sirajganj municipality, and his son Shahriar Ripu, 27, and a representative of a medical company Chandra Shekhar, 35, of Haripur village under the sadar upazila in the district.

Officer-in-charge of Jamuna Bridge West police station Abdul Kadir Jilani said that the accident occurred when a Dhaka-bound bus of Sirajganj tried to overtake a truck and collided with the track from behind, leaving three people dead on the spot.聽

The injured were admitted to Sirajganj General Hospital, and bodies of the dead were kept at the police station, he added.
