
One more bullet injured person during student-led mass uprising died while undergoing treatment at Combined Military Hospital in the capital on Monday night.
The victim is Bablu Mridha, 47, a resident of Jatrabari hailing from Dashmina in Patuakhali.
Kadamtali police station assistant sub-inspector Kamruzzaman confirmed the news.
He said that Bablu was undergoing treatment in the CMH with bullet injuries.
The ASI mentioned that Bablu died at the hospital and his body was taken to the Dhaka Medical Hospital mortuary for autopsy on Tuesday.
Rubel Mridha, brother of Bablu, said that his brother sustained bullet injury on July 19 in Sonir Akhra area while participating in the student movement that led to mass uprising forcing Sheikh Hasina to resign as prime minister and flee to India.
He was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and later shifted to the CMH for better treatment on August 22, said Rubel.
Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal鈥檚 Kadamtali thana ward 61 convener Masud Miya said that Bablu was an activist of the party.
A bullet hit in the abdomen of Bablu while he was in a march in the movement, added Masud.
The movement forced Sheikh Hasina to resign on August 5 leaving more than 1,000 people killed in violence during the movement, according to interim government鈥檚 health adviser Nurjahan Begum.
