
Speakers at a seminar on Saturday in Dhaka said that vitiligo was not a contagious disease, and the early diagnosis increased the chance of controlling its condition.
The seminar titled Vitiligo Awareness was organised by the Public Health and Sciences Club of North South University in collaboration with the Incepta Pharmaceuticals Limited, said a press release.
Highlighting several key points about vitiligo, speakers also said that it could be managed with proper treatment and awareness.
Presided over by the NSU school of health and life sciences dean, Professor Dr Deepak Kumar Mitra, Enam Medical College and Hospital associate professor Dr Fatema Tui Zohra attended the seminar as chief guest.
The NSU public health department chairman Dr SM Saidur Rahman Mashreky delivered the welcome speech at the seminar.
Incepta Pharmaceuticals’ deputy general manager (marketing), Mostafa Kamal Pasha, and senior brand manager, Nuzhat Tarannum, also addressed the seminar, focusing on vitiligo treatment and management.
Dr Aziz Bin Sharif, NSU faculty adviser of the Public Health and Sciences Club, delivered the closing remarks.
