
A case was filed recently against former land minister Narayan Chandra Chanda for abducting two women in Khulna.
One of the victim from Dumuria upazila in the district, filed the case, accusing Narayan Chandra, former Upazila Parishad chairman Gazi Ezaz Ahmad and 16 others.
The judge of the Prevention of Women and Children Repression Act Abdus Salam Khan passed the order, accepting the complaint and directed Sonadanga police station to register it as a case.
According to the case statement, Ezaz Ahmad sexually harassed and raped the victim several times in 2023 alluring of marrying her.
On January 27 this year, Ezaz called on the victim, assuring her that he would marry her. When the victim reached there, he along with his cohorts confined and raped her at a room.
Later, the victim was admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital at the night.
On the next day, Ezaz鈥檚 cousin Gazi Towhid Ahmad, who is also an accused in the case and others abducted the victim and her mother by a microbus as the KMCH authority forcibly released her following the order of Narayan Chandra Chanda.
