The right leg of a young man blew away in a landmine explosion at Teknaf in Cox鈥檚 Bazar on Tuesday morning.

The injured was Omar Faruque, 18, a resident of Uttar Para under Whykong union of Teknaf.


Whykong union council chairman Noor Ahmad Anwari said that Faruque and his friend went to the Lalchar area of Myanmar to bring Anar Gula, a natural food, through the Whykong border pointof Naf river.

At one stage, there was an explosion of a landmine. Faruque was seriously injured in the blast, added the chairman.

Teknaf police station officer-in-charge Muhammad Gias Uddin said that he heard the news from the locals.

The injured youth is undergoing treatment at MSF Hospital in Kutupalong area of Ukhia, the OC said.
