
The late vice-chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Professor Dr MA Hadi was remembered at a programme at the Shaheed Dr Milon Hall of the university in Dhaka on Thursday.
Chaired by Professor Dr ASM Nowroz, convener of the 17th Death Anniversary Observation Committee of Professor Dr MA Hadi, national standing committee member of Bangladesh Nationalist Party, AZM Zahid Hossain, inaugurated a blood donation campaign as chief guest at the beginning of the programme, said a press release.
Moderated by the observation committee member secretary Dr Md, Mofakhkharul Islam, members of the BNP鈥檚 chairperson advisory council, Professor Dr Md Siraj Uddin Ahmed and Professor Dr Abdul Bayesh Bhuiyan, BMA and DAB former president Professor Dr AKM Azizul Haque, Professor Dr Md Nazrul Islam, BSMMU pro-VC (administration) Professor Dr Md Abul Kalam Azad, dean of nursing faculty Mozammel Haque, MA Hadi son Hossain Imam Al Hadi, among others, spoke at the programme.
Speakers said that MA Hadi had contributed immensely to the expansion of postgraduate education in the medical sector of the country.
Inspired by the nationalist spirit, he was a humanitarian person regardless of party affiliation, they added.
Mentioning that he did not deprive anyone during his tenure as the VC of the university, they also said that he would be remembered as an undisputed leader of the medical community.
