The Students鈥� Movement Against Discrimination, the platform that headed student-led uprising, on Tuesday announced a new central committee.
The four-member convening committee comprises of Hasnat Abdullah as convener, Arif Sohel as member secretary, Abdul Hannan Masud as chief organiser and Umama Fatema as spokesperson.
Sarjis Alam, one of the key coordinators of the platform, announced the convening committee in a press聽 conference held at the Central Shaheed Minar in Dhaka, saying that the committee would be fully formed soon.
He mentioned that the four individuals would work across the country in support of the platform.
The platform will work not only in districts and upazilas but also in all educational institutions, including universities, to organise the platform, said Sarjis.
He also mentioned that there were many wrongdoings happening across the country under the guise of fake coordinators, and the platform was working to prevent that.
To address such issues, there was a need to restructure the committee, noted Sarjis, adding that there remained many works ahead to be implemented across the country.
